LAHORE -- Pakistani forces killed four terrorists and made about 600 arrests as top officials ordered stepped-up counter-insurgency operations throughout Punjab Province, media reported Sunday (February 26).
The para-military Rangers and Punjab Police jointly carried out the operations, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said Saturday (February 25).
They seized a large cache of weapons and banned literature, added ISPR.
Security forces carried out more than 200 searches in Punjab as part of Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad, said ISPR.
The searches and arrests came as top provincial officials decided in Lahore Sunday to intensify the operation province-wide. The federal government ordered Radd-ul-Fasaad after a recent spate of fatal terrorist attacks .
