KARACHI -- The Home Ministry in Sindh Province has extended the special policing powers of the Sindh Rangers in Karachi, Geo News reported February 6 (Tuesday).
The move authorises the Rangers to act independently against criminals and suspected terrorists in Karachi Division for another 90 days as part of the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997.
The renewal of powers expires April 10.
Both the provincial Home Ministry and the federal Interior Ministry approved the extension.
