LAHORE -- The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of the Punjab Police Monday (July 1) registered cases of terror financing against Hafiz Saeed and other leaders of the banned militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), a CTD spokesperson said Wednesday (July 3).
Police filed the cases against Saeed, his brother Hafiz Masood and other LeT leaders including Abdul Rehman Makki, Amir Humza and Muhammad Yahya Aziz, according to the First Information Report (FIR).
The FIR also accused five charitable organisations -- the Dawat wal Irshad trust, Maaz bin Jabal Trust, Al-Anfal Trust, Al-Madina Foundation Trust and Alhamd Trust -- of terror financing.
"These organisations gather funds for banned terrorist outfit LeT and for their leaders," said the FIR.
