Bajaur residents protest killing of polio worker

By Hanif Ullah

KHAR -- Bajaur District residents Friday (May 10) held a demonstration outside the Bajaur Press Club to protest the murder of a polio vaccination officer.

Unidentified men on May 4 gunned down Abdullah Jan, 35, in the Inayat Killi area of Bajaur.

Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) actively participates in the intimidation and assassination of polio vaccinators.

The protesters carried banners and placards inscribed with slogans seeking the arrest of the killers and justice for Jan's family.

"The government should take concrete steps to resolve law and order problems in Bajaur," Younis Jan, brother of Abdullah Jan, told Pakistan Forward. He demanded that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa authorities arrest the culprits.
