Man accused of targeting Punjab chief minister for suicide bombing

LAHORE -- Punjab police in Lahore have arrested a man accused of plotting to assassinate Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif in a suicide bombing, police said Monday (September 18), according to Geo News.

The suspect is a chauffeur for a Punjab Information Technology Board official, said police.

In July, a suicide bombing 100 metres from Sharif's residence in Lahore took 26 lives.
