7 killed, 6 kidnapped in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD -- Two militants, a police official and a member of the Ahmadi community were among at least seven people killed recently in Pakistan, media reported.

Target killers November 27 gunned down an Ahmadi and a deputy superintendent of police separately in Karachi, police said, according to Dawn.

Separately, armed assailants November 26 in Gwadar District, Balochistan, opened fire on an oil exploration firm's vehicle, killing two security guards, a senior administrator, Mansoor Gichki confirmed. And on that same day, officials also confirmed that security forces killed two members of the banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) outfit and arrested a suspected LeJ member in Mastung, Balochistan.

Attackers also recently killed Pashtun folk singer Darwesh Khan in Swabi District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), police said, according to a November 27 SAMAA report; and on November 26, kidnappers seized six Pakistani employees of a Polish oil-and-gas surveying firm in Dera Ismail Khan, KP, security officials said.
