QUETTA -- Pakistani security forces Wednesday (December 20) thwarted a terrorist attack targeting Balochistan Governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai, Dawn reported.
Authorities arrested two suspects identified as Hamid Bashir and Munawwar, Balochistan Home Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti said during a press conference in Quetta.
They also recovered suicide jackets, 16 rockets, 80 land mines and other weapons from their possession.
The suspects planned to assassinate Achakzai in Qilla Abdullah District, he said.
They belonged to Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ), according to Bugti.
