LAHORE -- The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested eight suspected human traffickers Tuesday (November 21) in Punjab Province, Dawn reported.
Authorities have cracked down on human trafficking in the province after discovering 20 bullet-riddled bodies in the Turbat area in two incidents last week.
They identified the victims as Punjab Province residents trying to cross into Iran en route to Europe.
The Baloch Liberation Front (BLF) claimed responsibility for the deaths.
FIA officers arrested seven suspected traffickers in Gujranwala and recovered 142 original Pakistani passports and forged documents and equipment, said an FIA source.
An eighth suspect allegedly involved in the trafficking was picked up in Gujrat, the source said.
