Pakistan's army chief meets Iranian leadership in Tehran

RAWALPINDI -- Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa is in Tehran to confer on security matters with Iran's civilian and military leadership, Dawn reported Sunday (November 5).

Bajwa arrived in Tehran Sunday (November 5) for a three-day official visit, according to a tweet from Maj. Gen. Asif Ghafoor, Pakistani army spokesman.

The army chief is expected to meet with Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, among other Iranian leaders.

This is the first visit of its kind in more than two decades, Dawn reported.
