Pakistani authorities arrest 19 suspects, including 4 ISIL operatives

ISLAMABAD -- Two people were killed in a roadside blast in Balochistan, while security forces arrested 19 suspects in Lahore and Karachi operations.

Police foiled an attempt of sabotage activity in Lahore September 16 by holding four suspected terrorists of "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) during an operation in the Allama Iqbal Town area of the city, Punjab's Counter Terrorism department (CTD) said, according to Dunya TV.

Authorities recovered 2kg of explosives, detonators and weapons from detained suspects.

Separately, police apprehended at least 15 suspects during raids in Hazara Colony, Soldier Bazaar and Gulshan-e-Ghazi areas of Karachi September 16, Superintendent of Police (SP) Baldia Town Asif Razaq said, Geo News reported.

Meanwhile, a roadside blast in Naseerabad District of Balochistan September 14 killed two workers of Pakistan People's Party (PPP) when their motorbike hit a land mine planted on a road, police said, according to Dawn.
