KARACHI -- Pakistani police recently killed a terrorist and a gang member and detained 48 suspected terrorists and criminals in Karachi and in Vehari District, Punjab Province.
A policeman was injured and the two criminals were killed in a recent shoot-out in Karachi, Dunya TV reported. Police identified the dead criminals as a Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terrorist and a Lyari gang member.
The slain men were involved in 42 homicides and more than 15 terrorist acts, police said.
Meanwhile, police in Karachi recently apprehended 22 suspected criminals and terrorists, including 11 foreigners, mostly Afghan nationals, Dunya TV reported July 8.
In Vehari District, Punjab Province, police and the provincial Counter Terrorism Department July 8 arrested at least 26 suspected terror financiers, Geo News reported.
