QUETTA -- More than 200 Baloch militants turned in their weapons to Pakistani authorities in a ceremony Thursday (January 25) in Turbat, Dawn reported.

Most of the militants were members of the banned Baloch Liberation Front (BLF), including 15 key commanders, said provincial government sources.

The militants allegedly took part in attacking security forces and carrying out bomb attacks in Balochistan.

Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo distributed cheques worth Rs. 100,000 (US$1,000) to each surrendering militant as part of the reconciliation process.
