ISLAMABAD -- US Defence Secretary Jim Mattis is meeting with top Pakistani official Monday (December 4) in Islamabad.
Mattis arrived at the Nur Khan air base in Rawalpindi before heading to the US embassy.
Mattis is expected to hold talks with Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Chief of Army Staff Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa during the brief stopover.
The visit, part of a regional tour that will also take him the Egypt, Jordan and Kuwait, is Mattis's first to Pakistan as defense secretary.
