LAHORE -- The activities of the "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) contravene Islam and humanity, said anti-militant Pakistani cleric Tahir-ul-Qadri, Dunya TV reported Thursday (July 20).
ISIS is distorting Islamic teachings, misusing the term "Islamic caliphate" and has nothing to do with Islam, Tahir-ul-Qadri said during a televised interview with Al Jazeera.
ISIS and its supporters are enemies of Islam and humanity, said Tahir-ul-Qadri, who in 2010 issued a 600-page fatwa denouncing terrorism.
