Khalilzad discusses Afghan peace process with Pakistani leaders in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD -- US Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad met with Pakistani leaders in Islamabad Thursday-Friday (August 1-2) to discuss developments in the Afghan peace process, the US embassy in Islamabad said in a statement.

Khalilzad met with Prime Minister Imran Khan, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Chief of Army Staff Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa.

The participants discussed the positive momentum in the peace process and additional steps Pakistan could take to help the situation, the statement said.
