ISLAMABAD -- Afghan President Ashraf Ghani’s special representative for regional affairs and peace, Mohammad Umer Daudzai, arrived in Islamabad Tuesday (January 8) to meet with the Pakistani leadership and discuss the on-going talks between the United States and the Afghan Taliban, The Express Tribune reported Tuesday.
During the four-day visit, Daudzai will hold talks in the Pakistani Foreign Office and will include a one-on-one session with Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
Planned topics include US-Taliban talks in the United Arab Emirates, which took place in December, according to the Express Tribune. Pakistan facilitated that event.
