Punjab police foil terrorist plot in Muzaffargarh

MUZAFFARGARH -- The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Punjab police Friday (December 22) foiled a terror bid and arrested three suspected militants during an operation in Muzaffargarh, Geo News reported.

The militants were linked to a banned outfit and were plotting to attack Christmas festivities, according to the CTD.

Authorities recovered hand grenades and other arms and ammunition.

Meanwhile in Multan District, CTD officers killed two Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants after they opened fire on police, Geo News reported Friday.

Authorities received a tip about the presence of militants and raided a compound near Jalalpur Pirwala. Three militants escaped.

CTD officers recovered arms and ammunition during the incident.
