Pakistani army chief meets top US commander

RAWALPINDI -- Army chief Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa met with Gen. Joseph Votel, head of US Central Command, in Rawalpindi Thursday (November 16) to discuss the regional security situation, Geo News reported.

Topics included Pakistan-Afghanistan border management and Pakistan's efforts to establish peace in the region, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

"COAS [Bajwa] said that peace in Afghanistan is more important for Pakistan than any other country," according to ISPR. Pakistan has contributed towards peace and will continue doing so, added Bajwa.

Votel acknowledged the Pakistani army's contributions and Pakistan's sacrifices in the war against terror, said ISPR.
