Death toll from Parachinar blasts rises to 72

PARACHINAR -- The death toll of the Friday (June 23) double bombing in Parachinar, Kurram Agency, climbed to 72 Sunday (June 25) as five more victims died from their injuries, reported Dawn.

The back-to-back explosions hit busy Turi Market as customers shopped for Eid.

The death toll might still rise, warned officials.

Local residents staged a sit-in to protest the slayings and demanded the presence of army chief Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa and Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.
