PTA blocks 30 websites, 10 Facebook accounts for spreading extremism

Staff Report

ISLAMABAD -- The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) blocked 30 websites and 10 Facebook accounts part of the counter-terrorism National Action Plan (NAP), Geo News reported Thursday (June 22).

The government launched NAP shortly after the December 2014 Army Public School massacre in Peshawar.

The Sindh Police Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) filed a written request to block the sites and accounts. Banned outfits are operating the sites and accounts for ulterior motives, said Geo News' sources.
