Mashal's murder was pre-planned, say authorities

Staff Report

PESHAWAR -- Authorities have found no evidence of blasphemy committed by Mashal Khan, the Abdul Wali Khan University student whom a mob lynched in April on the university's Mardan campus, Dunya TV reported Sunday (June 4).

Mashal committed no blasphemy but regularly opposed "irregularities" he found at the university, according to the Joint Investigation Team formed for his case.

The prime suspects in his slaying confessed to pre-meditating it because they opposed his ideological views, according to Dunya TV.
