Pakistani forces arrest 5 terror suspects

LAHORE -- Police arrested five suspected terrorists in Karachi and Gujranwala, Punjab Province, media reported.

Sindh police acting on a tip nabbed three suspected extremists in Karachi, Sindh Police Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in-charge Ali Raza said Tuesday (February 28), according to The Express Tribune. They are accused of terrorism and targeted killings, he added.

In Gujranwala, the Punjab CTD detained two suspected "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) militants, Dunya TV reported Tuesday (February 28).

The ISIL detainees were planning to attack a sensitive installation in the district, said the Punjab CTD.
