LAHORE -- The Punjab province Home Department Monday (February 20) requested a Rangers deployment in Punjab for 60 to 90 days, Geo News reported.
The deployment is meant to help police carry out intelligence-based counter-insurgency operations.
The provincial apex committee sought the deployment after a number of high-fatality terrorist attacks, including one that killed at least 14 people in Lahore February 13 .
