Senior FATA official kidnapped

LAKKI MARWAT -- A senior education official and his son were kidnapped from Lakki Marwat District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province, the district police officer said on Saturday (February 11), according to The Express Tribune.

Unknown armed men took Mohibullah Dawar, deputy director of education of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), and his son from a hotel on the outskirts of the district, near the Indus Highway where they had a stopover, the district police officer said.

Police have launched a search operation in the area, officials said.
