7 terror suspects nabbed in Kashmir, Kurram Agency

Staff Report

ISLAMABAD -- Pakistani authorities arrested seven terror suspects in raids in Pakistani-controlled Kashmir and in Kurram Agency, police announced Wednesday (February 8), Dawn reported.

Three suspected facilitators of the 2009 Muzaffarabad suicide bombing were nabbed in separate raids in Muzaffarabad Tuesday (February 7), Additional Superintendent of Police Asif Durrani said.

The suspects are accused of sheltering and transporting the plotters of a December 2009 suicide bombing that hit a Muharram procession, killing at least eight people.

Security forces arrested four militant suspects in Kurram Agency, authorities said, Dawn reported Wednesday (February 8), adding that the suspects fled their weapon-laden vehicle when authorities at a check-post ordered them to halt.
