2 Pakistani security personnel, local official killed

QUETTA -- Recent violence in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) provinces left two security personnel and an elected local official dead, media reported.

Gunmen Sunday (December 11) in Awaran District fatally shot Awaran Municipal Committee member Maula Bakhsh and another man, Dawn reported.

Gunmen recently killed a Frontier Corps member in Quetta, Dunya TV reported Monday (December 12).

Meanwhile in Peshawar, gunmen Saturday (December 10) killed Riazul Islam, a KP deputy superintendent of police for counter-terrorism, Dawn reported.

The para-military Rangers Sunday (December 11) in Karachi seized an ammunition and weapon cache hidden under the washroom of a house, Geo News reported, quoting security sources.
