Punjab police arrest 4 ISIL recruiters

RAWALPINDI -- Police arrested four recruiters for "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) in Punjab and recovered large cache of weapons hidden inside a manhole in Karachi, media reported.

The ISIL recruiters were detained during separate raids of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) police in Attock and Taxila areas of the Punjab province September 20, SAMAA reported.

The detained suspects had met ISIL regional head in Afghanistan, CTD said, adding that explosives, detonators, safety fuses, cables and other articles were also recovered from their possession.

Meanwhile, Rangers seized a large cache of weapons hidden inside a manhole at Qasba Colony area of Karachi September 19, Rangers said, Geo News reported.

In a separate incident of violence unidentified gunmen shot dead a CTD official on Jamshed Road, Karachi, Geo News reported September 20.
