70 killed in Quetta suicide bombing

QUETTA -- An August 8 suicide bombing inside a Quetta hospital killed at least 70 people, Dunya News reported.

The explosion occurred inside Civil Hospital as reporters and journalists gathered after medics brought in the body of Balochistan Bar Association President Bilal Anwar Kasi, who had been fatally shot earlier that day, Dawn reported, quoting Balochistan Home Secretary Akbar Harifal.

Most of the dead were attorneys, senior police official Zahoor Ahmed Afridi said.

Journalists also were killed, including an AAJ TV cameraman, Dawn reported.

The Supreme Court Bar Association announced seven days of mourning by the legal community.
