Pakistan queries airline employees after seizure of drugs

By Agence France-Presse

LAHORE -- Employees of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) are in custody and under investigation after drugs were seized from a Dubai-bound flight, a spokesman said August 1.

Anti-narcotic officers took the drugs from a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) aircraft at Lahore airport.

"Anyone found guilty will be strictly dealt with. PIA is fully facilitating with other agencies involved in the probe," airline spokesman Danyal Gilani said.

He did not say how many employees were being questioned. Nor did he give details on the type or quantity of the drugs seized. No formal charges have been made against the employees, he added.
