Pakistani violence kills 6

ISLAMABAD -- A former lawmaker, a tribal elder and two police officials were among six Pakistanis killed recently throughout the country.

Gunmen July 17 killed pro-government tribal elder Malik Syal Jan Dadu­khel and wounded his three companions in the Banglow area of Mohmand Agency, according to Dawn.

Separately, Shoaib Khan, a former Awami National Party (ANP)-affiliated member of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly, died in a Peshawar hospital July 18 after gunmen shot him in Swabi District July 17, SAMAA reported.

The Frontier Corps (FC) recently killed a militant and detained five suspected militants in Kalat District, Balochistan Province, FC spokesperson Khan Wasey said July 17, according to Dawn.

Authorities recently detained six terror suspects in Tormang, near Lower Dir, KP, Dunya TV reported July 18.

Meanwhile, a recent shoot-out in Rawalpindi left two police officers and a robber dead, Dunya TV reported July 17.
