3 Pakistani militants killed in Bajaur and KP

PESHAWAR -- At least three militants were killed recently in separate incidents in Bajaur Agency and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), officials said.

Two militants July 10 in the Salarzai area, Bajaur Agency, were killed by the explosives that they were planting on a road, the Bajaur political administration told The Express Tribune.

Separately police July 10 in Battagram District, KP, killed a commander of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and arrested another suspected militant in a shoot-out in Battagram District July 10, Geo News reported.

The TTP commander for Shangla and Tougher district, who was killed in the shoot-out was involved in the July 9 slaying of a KP policeman, District Police Officer (DPO) Raja Saboor Khan said, adding that he was also wanted in several other cases.

Authorities were offering a bounty of Rs. 1m (US $10,000) for the TTP commander, police said.
