Attack on police office in Balochistan kills 9

QUETTA -- A gun and bomb attack Tuesday (January 29) on a police office in Balochistan killed nine Pakistanis and wounded 17 others, Dawn reported.

Those slain in the assault, which targeted the office of the provincial deputy inspector general of police in Loralai, included eight officers and a civilian, said Inspector General of Police Balochistan Mohsin Hassan Butt.

The attack targeted a test for police clerks taking place at the office, said Butt.

Two attackers were killed, Balochistan Home Minister Ziaullah Langove said. However, other security sources told DawnNews TV that four attackers were killed.
