ISLAMABAD -- US Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad arrived in Islamabad Thursday (January 17) for talks about the Afghan peace process after spending time in Afghanistan.
"US Special Representative Zalmay Khalilzad @US4AfghanPeace holding delegation level talks with Foreign Secretary, Tehmina Janjua at MoFA today," tweeted Dr. Mohammad Faisal, a spokesman for the Foreign Ministry. "The two sides reviewed developments post Abu Dhabi, in order to take the Afghan peace process forward."
Earlier Thursday, Prime Minister Imran Khan received a telephone call from Afghan President Ashraf Ghani to discuss the on-going peace process, Geo News reported.
Ghani expressed his gratitude for Pakistan's efforts towards ensuring peace in Afghanistan.
