WASHINGTON -- Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi Tuesday (October 2) conferred with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in Washington on a number of Pakistani-US issues, including policy in Afghanistan, reported Dawn Wednesday (October 3).
Qureshi reiterated Pakistan's commitment to support an Afghan-led peace and reconciliation process.
No military solution to the Afghan war exists and a peaceful Afghanistan is vital for regional stability, said Qureshi. He highlighted Pakistani efforts to support progress in Afghanistan, such as the Afghanistan-Pakistan Action Plan for Peace and Solidarity, reported Dawn.
