QUETTA -- Three "terrorists" and three members of the Iranian security forces were killed during night-time clashes along Iran's border with Pakistan, Iranian state media reported.
"At [1.30] this morning [2100 GMT Monday (April 16)], a terrorist group from Pakistan attacked" a police post in the border area of Mirjaveh, about 75km southeast of Zahedan, the capital of Sistan-Baluchistan Province, state news agency IRNA reported Tuesday (April 17).
Three of the attackers were killed along with a police officer and two members of the Revolutionary Guard, it added.
Iran has accused Pakistan in the past of supporting jihadist groups in Sistan-Baluchistan, often using such accusations to mask its aggression against Pakistan and to justify cross-border shelling.
