Abbasi visits Saudi Arabia for conclusion of international military drills

RIYADH -- Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi arrived in Saudi Arabia Sunday (April 15) for a two-day visit, Dawn reported.

Abbasi was received by Saudi officials at the King Abdulaziz Air Force Base at Al Khobar. He is scheduled to join other world leaders Monday (April 16) to attend the closing ceremony of the Gulf Shield-1 international military exercise.

The month-long manoeuvres, which include 24 countries, are aimed at strengthening military and security co-operation in the region.

Troops, C-130 aircraft, JF-17 Thunder fighter jets, warships and Special Services Group commandos from Pakistan took part in the drills.
