Sindh minister, wife found dead at home in Karachi

KARACHI -- The Sindh minister for planning and development and his wife were found shot dead in Karachi's Defence Housing Authority, Dawn reported Thursday (February 1).

The bodies of Mir Hazar Khan Bijarni, a member of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), and his wife, journalist Fariha Razzq, were discovered in their locked bedroom, according to initial reports.

Police are investigating from all angles.

Several PPP leaders expressed grief.

"This is a big tragedy for the family and the PPP both. My thoughts and prayers are with their families, constituents and our PPP family," PPP lawmaker Nafisa Shah tweeted.

No one has claimed responsibility.
