QUETTA -- Authorities in Kech District of Balochistan Province Wednesday (November 15) found 15 bullet-riddled bodies, officials told Dawn.

The Levies Force found the bodies in Buleda Tehsil, an officer told Dawn on condition of anonymity.

All the victims received multiple bullet wounds at close range. They appeared to be from various districts of Punjab Province, the officer said.

Authorities have not yet determined whether the victims were labourers or illegal immigrants trying to enter neighbouring Iran, a route used by Pakistanis to reach Greece and other European countries, Dawn reported.

Kech District is considered one of the more dangerous districts of Balochistan. Militants have repeatedly attacked labourers and security personnel there.
