LONDON -- London mayor Sadiq Khan is expected to visit Pakistan and India later this year to promote business and cultural ties between the countries and the British capital, reported SAMAA TV.
On Tuesday, Khan announced plans for a six-day tour to visit Mumbai, Delhi and Amritsar in India, and Lahore, Islamabad and Karachi in Pakistan.
“As someone whose grandparents were born in India, and whose parents moved to London from Pakistan, I feel a deep affinity for the subcontinent,” he said in a statement from the London government.
Khan, accompanied by British business leaders, will be meeting with politicians, investors and entrepreneurs in the region, according to the statement.
