4 Pakistani universities rank in world's top 1,000

ISLAMABAD -- Only four Pakistani universities were listed among the world's top 1,000 higher educational institutions this year, Dawn reported Tuesday (September 5), quoting the latest edition of the annual (London) Times Higher Education World University Rankings.

Quaid-i-Azam University in Islamabad ranked among the top 500, an improvement from last year when it placed among universities ranked 601st to 800th.

The other three Pakistani universities listed were COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, the National University of Sciences and Technology and the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad.

Last year, seven Pakistani universities made the list.
