GUJRAT -- At least three terrorists were killed and 15 suspects arrested in various security operations in Punjab Province, reported media.
The Punjab Police Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) killed three terrorists in a Wednesday (August 2) shoot-out in Gujrat District, reported Dunya TV.
The terrorists opened fire on CTD officers conducting a search, who returned fire. Three suspects escaped.
The three dead men belonged to a banned outfit and were plotting attacks in Gujrat, said the CTD.
Security forces in Lahore detained five suspected members of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Swat and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), said Inter-Services Public Relations, SAMAA reported Thursday (August 3).
Police in Lahore are investigating graveyards as possible hideouts for terrorists, reported Dunya News Thursday.
Security forces made 10 more arrests in Karachi, added SAMAA.
