UNITED NATIONS -- Five Pakistanis who gave their lives in peace-keeping operations in 2016 have received post-humous UN medals, SAMAA reported.
The four soldiers and a civilian woman were among 117 recipients from 43 countries of the Dag Hammarskjold Medal in a ceremony held Wednesday (May 24) at UN headquarters.
Havildar Abdul Majeed Khan, Havildar Zishan Ahmed, Lt.-Col. Muhammad Ashraf, Naik Qaiser Abbas and Ms. Shabnam Khan served in Congo, Ivory Coast, Central African Republic and Afghanistan.
