PESHAWAR -- Police arrested the prime suspect in the lynching of Abdul Wali Khan University student Mashal Khan, Mardan District Deputy Inspector General of Police Mohammad Alam Shinwari announced Thursday (April 27), according to Geo News.
The suspect, identified as Imran, was a classmate of Mashal who took offence at Mashal's Facebook pages, which he considered "blasphemous", said Shinwari.
Police seized from Imran the pistol that he used to shoot Mashal, added Shinwari.
A mob fatally beat and shot Mashal on campus April 13.
