KARACHI -- The para-military Rangers foiled a terrorist plot in Karachi by arresting five suspected militants, Dunya TV reported.
The five detainees had links to al-Qaeda and to the "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) and operated networks in Karachi and in Balochistan Province, said Rangers Col. Qaisar in Karachi Wednesday (April 12).
In other violence in Karachi, a police officer and two robbers were killed Tuesday (April 11), according to Dunya TV.
Motorcyclists gunned down the police officer and escaped from the Manghopir area.
Police killed two robbers in a shoot-out in Orangi Town.
