KARACHI -- An anti-terrorism court in Shikarpur, Sindh Province, Monday (March 27) sentenced 12 defendants for their roles in a thwarted suicide attack in Shikarpur during Eid in 2016, Dawn reported.
The court handed down death sentences to three defendants, two in absentia. Nine other defendants received life in prison in absentia.
The failed suicide bombings wounded 13 people. Two suicide bombers blew themselves up, one was arrested and one fled.
The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility.
