ISLAMABAD -- Pakistani authorities blocked 344,597 computerized national identity cards (CNICs) and invalidated 163,416 weapon licenses during a verification and computerisation process, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan told the National Assembly Monday (March 20), SAMAA reported.

The authorities blocked the CNICs after hearing from intelligence agencies, said Nisar Ali Khan, adding that those with objections may go to court. However, authorities will follow a set procedure in reviewing their complaints and will issue no CNICs to foreigners.
