Pakistan to fence Afghan border

Staff Report

ISLAMABAD -- To prevent illegal immigration and cross-border movements by militants, the Pakistani government will be fencing off parts of the Durand Line (the Pakistani-Afghan border), TOLO News reported Wednesday (March 1).

Construction will begin in a few months, said Pakistani officials.

Pakistan shut down border crossings with Afghanistan after deadly attacks in Lahore and on a Sufi shrine in Sindh Province in February.
