Police arrest suspected militants with arms, police uniforms

PESHAWAR -- Police detained nine suspected militants with arms, ammunition and security uniforms in separate raids in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), officials said.

Police detained four suspected members of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP)'s Fazlullah group in Charsadda District, KP, Thursday (February 2) and seized weapons and police uniforms from a graveyard in the Parang area after questioning them, District Police Officer (DPO) Suhail Khalid said, according to Dunya News.

The suspects were involved in attacks on police and on polio vaccinators, Suhail said.

Police in GB detained five suspects and seized a weapon cache in raids conducted Wednesday and Thursday (February 1 and 2) in the Gilgit and Chilas areas, thwarting possible terrorist plots in the region, The Express Tribune reported Friday (February 3).
