Lahore court acquits 115 accused of torching Christian colony

LAHORE -- A Lahore-based anti-terrorism court acquitted 115 defendants of charges of burning down more than 100 houses in the city's Christian colony in 2013, Dawn reported Saturday (January 28).

The judge found a lack of evidence against the defendants.

A mob stormed the neighbourhood after hearing of alleged blasphemy by a Christian, Sawan Masih.

Masih is appealing the death sentence that he received in 2014.
