ISLAMABAD -- Balochistan has identified 20 areas as potential construction sites for dams, SAMAA reported Wednesday (January 25).
The province already has 450 small dams meant to store water and to prevent flash floods.
The province is still prone to flash flooding, the Balochistan additional chief secretary told the Senate Committee on Planning Development and Reforms.
The Asian Development Bank has provided Rs. 10.4 billion (US $100 million) to fund a feasibility study on the construction of more dams, he added.
